Acoustic Properties of Larch Bark Panels

The potential of tree bark, a by-product the woodworking industry, has been studied for more than seven decades. Bark, as sustainable raw material, can replace wood or other resources in numerous applications construction. In this study, acoustic properties bark-based panels were analyzed. roles particle size (4–11 mm and 10–30 mm), orientation (parallel perpendicular) density (350–700 kg/m3) samples with 30 60 thicknesses at frequencies ranging from 50 to 6400 Hz. Bark-based boards fine-grained particles have shown be better terms sound absorption coefficient values compared coarse-grained particles. Bark composites mixed popcorn bonded UF did not return expected results, it is possible recommend solution. best bark obtain coefficients about 350 kg/m3. These lightweight achieved sound-absorbing (especially lower frequencies) higher thicknesses. noise reduction 0.5 obtained sample fine parallel around 360
